Dubai Expo was to host an intimate evening with master composer and classical musician Omar Khairat.
Themes from his well-known and much-loved scores stir emotive memories in the audience familiar to them, as they are transported by melodies, back into the worlds of those films and television shows.
My role as Creative Director working with Artist In Motion was to transform the architecture of Al Wasl with 360-degree projection content that would act as a backdrop, illuminating the space and providing a gentle visual tapestry of colour and texture to the performance.
I took inspiration from the artist's music to develop 3 design worlds that would subtly pay homage to his incredible career and contribution to stage and film.
“ENCOMPASS” Recognising Omar’s contribution to live performances his own and that of others. In this world we draw inspiration from the elaborate nature stage.
“ROMANCE” The Egyptian personality is central to Omar’s musical themes. The complexity of personality, emotions and memories are the inspiration for this design world.
“NOSTALGIA” This world has been inspired by the love of art and cinema, celebrating Omar’s incredible contribution to the medium.
